Clemson fans everyone can breath a sigh of relief. The manhunt for the party responsible for the vandalism of Howard’s Rock may have been caught.
Micah Rogers, 18, of Pisgah Forest, NC was arrested on Friday for his actions in taking a chunk out of the Rock on June 2. According to The Clemson Insider, Rogers has been charged with one felony in a count of malicious injury to animals or personal property valued at more than $2,000 but less than $10,000. He also faces one misdemeanor of trespassing and unlawful entry into enclosed places.
On June 20, the school released security camera footage of two people getting out of a truck, going into the stadium, returning to the truck, celebrating and then driving off. Apparently, Rogers, who seems to actually be a Clemson fan, realized the truck was his in the footage and that he was a part of the investigation.
That following Friday, Rogers turned himself over to the authorities.
“On Thursday night they put out the video of the truck, and Micah Rogers realized he was a part of the investigation,” Roger’s lawyer, Frank Eppes of Greenville, S.C., said. “On Friday the family made contact with me, and then he submitted himself to the authorities.
“They brought up charges and we will let this thing work itself out in the judicial process.”
The judicial process will likely be more fair to Rogers than much of the Clemson fan base. There is at least one football player who would like to have a word with him personally.
