Rep. Steve King can’t believe Obama called Jason Collins and not Tim Tebow

It’s been fun, but apparently Western Civilization as we know has eroded to the point where Iowa representative Steve King believes it’s all coming to an end.

And it’s all because of one measly phone call.

When Jason Collins came out as the first openly gay player in any of the four major American sports, our President phoned him up to talk about the monumental announcement.

However, he never called Tim Tebow about being a Christian, and that makes Mr. King cranky.

No matter what this guy does, Tebow simply cannot stay out of the headlines. Yes, the former Heisman Trophy winner has chosen to use his position as a public figure to advance his faith, but in no way did he intend on being seen as the beacon for all that is right and good in Western Civilization.

More to the point, as great of a role model Tebow is for both Christians and others, he is not, simply put, what is right and good in Western Civilization.

The best, brightest and most revered men and women the world has ever known have come in all shapes and sizes — from a teensy-tiny Hindu in Gandhi to Tebow and everyone in between, the world as we know it today has been influenced by folks from all walks of life.

Whether King realizes it or not, Collins made the world a more equal place for all its citizens, whether they are black, white, gay, straight, or a zillion other things.

And that, again, whether King realizes it or not, is deserving of — at the very least — a phone call.

    HAhahahaha. This is too funny.
Um, anti-American King, Tebow is a loser who was offered a BACKUP QB job in the Arena Football League.
Collins is a hero for coming out of the closet when homophobic crapbags like King make it so tough.
Tebow is merely one of MANY Christians in the NFL, by far the most of any religion. You sound like a raving drunk.
Tebow is a religious extremist who actually ticked off regular Christians, that is, the ones not self serving and arrogant.
Thanx for the laughs, King, and enjoy your new raving buffoon status.
