Swiss snowboarder Iouri Podladtchikov shocked the world on Tuesday when he won gold in the halfpipe. Even more shocking was the fact that Olympic favorite Shaun White failed to make the podium, placing fourth.

Podladtchikov, better known as I-Pod, landed his trademark Yolo flip. White tried the trick twice, once on each of his finals run. He failed to land it the first time, and had a shaky landing on his final trip down the pipe.

Here’s a look at I-Pod’s Yolo flip from the 2013 X-Games.

If you need more explanation, thankfully Matt Lauer was here during the opening ceremony.
