The SEC’s annual Media Days is a three-day event, and there is always a player that says something outrageous. Whether it be something funny or a wild prediction, we can always count on a great soundbite.
We got one in a huge way at the tail end of the very first day on Tuesday when South Carolina superstar defensive end Jadeveon Clowney stepped in front of the sea of microphones in Hoover, AL.
One thing’s for sure with Clowney’s statement: There is no love lost between Clowney, Clemson Tigers fans and Heisman hopeful quarterback Tajh Boyd.
Jadeveon Clowney on Tajh Boyd: “He is scared every time we play them. I know he’s listening to this right now but I’m telling the truth.”

That statement right there, ladies and gents, is the definition of “bold.”
Of course, when you are a 6-foot-6, 265-plus pound physical specimen, you can pretty much say and do whatever you want. Clowney recorded a whopping 4.5 sacks on Boyd during last season’s 27-17 beating of Clemson in Death Valley.
College football’s most intimidating man wasn’t done with Boyd, however. No, he made sure to leave a little trash on the table for Aaron Murray as well.

You better believe just about every major college football coach in the country was tuning into SEC Media Days, and when Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney caught wind of Clowney’s comments, he was quick to respond.
Dabo Swinney was just told about Clowney’s comments in Hoover: “I don’t think Tajh Boyd’s scared of anybody.”

*UPDATE* Clowney also added former Razorback Tyler Wilson to his “scared” list, according to Chris Huston of CBS Sports.
