Jaguars fans (read: Tim Tebow fans) just won’t give it up. Jacksonville is off to a beyond-horrendous 0-2 start to the 2013 NFL season, which has prompted Tebow/Jags fans to call for The Chosen One.
Last week, a group of fans started the website jags-tebow.com, where they posed the question “Why not?” Their thinking must be on the lines of, what’s the worst that can happen: Tebow comes in and continues to lose games for the Jags, while putting a few more thousand fans in the stands?
The same fans that started the website are now calling for a rally outside of EverBank Field at 3:16 p.m. today, which will last for three hours and 16 minutes:
RALLY RALLY RALLY! MONDAY SEP 16TH BEGINNING AT 3:16 PM AT EVERBANK FIELD STADIUM PARKING LOT. RALLY WILL GO FOR 3 HOURS AND 16 MINUTES. BRING YOUR TEBOW SIGNS, HATS SHIRTS WHATEVER YOU HAVE. COME ONE COME ALL AND LETS SHOW OUR SUPPORT. DO YOUR PART TO BRING TEBOW TO JACKSONVILLE. PUT THE WORD OUT VIA FACEBOOK, TWITTER WHATEVER.
The only response I have to all of this is: Don’t these folks have real life jobs to work on a Monday instead of wasting time standing in a parking lot for the better part of the afternoon?
Listen, being a Florida fan, it’s in my blood to love Tebow. But this whole “Tebow to the Jags” thing just isn’t any sort of solution for either party involved.
