Report: Jameis Winston Cited For Stealing Crab Legs From Publix

FSU quarterback Jameis Winston brought the sports world a piece of tasty news on Wednesday morning when he was caught stealing crab legs from Publix. According to Tomahawk Nation, Winston was issued a citation on Tuesday.

Details on the events that transpired are still scarce. Florida State and head coach Jimbo Fisher have not yet commented on the situation.

Winston has been under the spotlight recently with the release of a New York Times expose on the handling of the sexual assault case involving the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback. Although this latest situation is just a misdemeanor, it certainly won’t help his image in the eyes of the public.

We will update you here as more information is released.

A source with Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) informed Tomahawk Nation that it is not being classified as an arrest, only a citation.

The Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that TPD has had no contact with Winston in regards to this incident. However, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office has issued a 2 p.m. news conference. We will update once LCSO addresses the media.

Winston admitted to authorities that he took $32.72 worth of seafood from Publix, and has been issued an adult civil citation by the LCSO. He has seven (7) days to enter a pre-diversion program. From there, he must perform no less than 20 hours of community service. For a complete timeline of the events that transpired, please click here.
