Jameis Winston broke on to the scene for Florida State last spring as a member of the Seminoles’ baseball team. His canon of an arm made national highlights as he gunned down runners from the outfield. It was all foreshadowing of things to come in the fall.
When the 2013 football season rolled around, no one knew exactly what to expect from Winston. We knew he had all the talent in the world, but that doesn’t always translate to success on the football field (see Xavier Lee). Thirteen games later, he has his ‘Noles perched atop the college football universe, and is favored to take home the Heisman Trophy.
Those feats alone aren’t enough for the superstar, however. No, he is striving to be talked about with the greatest athletes of all time. Winston has the legendary Bo Jackson, considered by many to be the best pure athlete in American sports history, in his sights.
During media availability prior to the Heisman Trophy presentation, Winston told reporters that he wants to play baseball and football for the rest of his life. That he wants “to be better than Bo Jackson.”
Winston: wants to do both baseball and football rest of his life. “I want to be better than Bo Jackson. ”

Whether or not he’s held on the same level as Bo remains to be seen. What we do know, however, is that Winston has a good start.
