Vanderbilt coach James Franklin has built the Commodores football program up from nothing to one that is a real threat to hit the 10-win plateau in 2013.
It is not easy earning respect in the rough-and-tumble SEC, however. Franklin wants to make sure he coaches with and his players play with a chip on their shoulder all season long – because the reality of the situation is they haven’t won anything yet. No rings, no titles, just a bowl game against NC State.
So what did he do?
He literally put a chip on his shoulder. Love it.
What we don’t love is having to wait just about an entire month to get back to some real football.
