James Franklin’s Penn State contract offer rumored to be among college football’s highest

Despite the fact that James Franklin has yet to announce his decision on the Penn State job, all signs point to a matter of “when” and not “if.” The move will not only land him at one of America’s highest-profile coaching jobs, but Franklin’s bank account will also receive a nice boost. ESPN’s Brett McMurphy is reporting that his contract could be up to $4.5 million per year.

Franklin was believed to make in the $3 million dollar range while at Vanderbilt; as a private university, Vandy does not have to disclose coaching contracts.

The 41-year-old Langhorne, Pennsylvania native will bring three years of head coaching experience and a 24-15 overall record with him to Happy Valley.
