Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops made waves recently when he said that the SEC is not all that dominant. Basically, he pointed to the bottom of the barrel in the league to prove that, yes, while the SEC has won seven national titles in a row, the entire conference does not dominate the way most assume it does.

At that point, pretty much the entire southern region of the United States had a laugh at the expense of the Sooners coach, including Nick Saban, as well as golfer Jason Dufner.

Dufner is an Auburn grad, so he is SEC through and through. Is there bias in his analysis? Of course — but that’s alright. What we’re excited to see is him continuing to defend not only his school, but his entire conference, even when former Florida State quarterback and current host of ESPNU’s Unite Danny Kanell tried chirping at him over Twitter.

Love it.

And remember, this is the guy who gained notoriety not for his golf prowess on the national stage, but for what became the internet sensation known as #Dufnering.

Just for fun (this has absolutely nothing to do with the above story) let’s a look at fellow golfer Rickie Fowler Dufnering, with another SEC guy, Bubba Watson, looking on:
