In hopes of landing an MLS team in South Florida, David Beckham has reached deep within his celebrity coterie. The footballer has reportedly added Jay Z and Beyoncé to his growing list of potential investors.
According to the Daily Star, the first family of hip hop join Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Jack Nicholson as possible partners in the venture.
In November, it was reported that Beckham had also received interest from LeBron James. The Miami Heat star, and global icon, sees viability for a team due to the large hispanic population of South Florida. Beckham has also consulted Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross about the prospect of adding another professional franchise to the city.
While the plans are still in their infancy, Beckham has no shortage of big-money investors to help finance the club. Furthermore, they are the glamorous owners that would help sell the glitz of Miami.
