SEC fans, set your Twitter-lasers to attack mode.
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher’s program, while slightly disappointing over the last few seasons, can compete with most teams in the SEC. When asked about his conference as a whole, Fisher said he believes the entire ACC is on the up-and-up, and that his league is catching up to the one that has won seven consecutive national titles.
Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher on ACC overall: “We want to catch the SEC & we’re closing in”

Bold statement right there.
We’re sure there are plenty of Alabama, LSU, Florida and Georgia fans that would beg to differ. Luckily, however, we as fans will have the chance to see this inter-conference rivalry played out on the field.
The defending national champion Crimson Tide faces off against the ACC’s Virginia Tech Hokies to open the year, while Georgia faces off against Clemson.
All the SEC fans who are ticked off at Fisher’s words could be forced to eat some crow if Va. Tech and the Tigers take down the Tide and Bulldogs to open the 2013 slate of games. Or not, and then Fisher’s league would once again be looked down upon from the mighty SEC on high.
