Joakim Noah’s All-NBA First-Team Bonus Is A Small Fortune

Chicago Bulls center/do-everything-player Joakim Noah is putting together a phenomenal season. Noah, who is the heart and soul of the Bulls, is averaging a double-double with 12.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. He’s also chipping in 5 assists and 1.5 blocks per outing.

The numbers combined with his leadership has folks believing that Noah is an All-NBA First-Team player. Should he receive the recognition at the end of the season, his bank account will also receive a nice payday. According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Noah’s contract includes a $500,000 bonus if he is named a first-teamer.

Although he won’t be voted as the league’s MVP, it can be argued that no player means more to his team right now than Noah. Take him off the Bulls and the team is probably staring at an NBA lottery draft pick. As for the All-NBA First-Team, however, it looks like Noah might need to make some extra room in both his trophy case and bank account.
