Johnny Manziel’s 2013 Heisman ballot revealed

One of the perks for winning the 2012 Heisman Trophy is that Johnny Manziel will get to cast a vote for each Heisman in subsequent years.

For much of the 2013 season, the Heisman race was neck and neck between Manziel and FSU quarterback Jameis Winston. In the end, however, Winston pulled ahead as he led his team to an undefeated record and a BCS title berth, while Manziel’s Aggies dropped a total of four games.

Manziel could have voted for himself in 2013, which would have given him a better chance of winning. After revealing his ballot, however, it’s clear that Manziel was fair in his voting. The Texas A&M star slotted himself third, behind Boston College running back Andre Williams and 2013 winner Jameis Winston.

Following in Manziel’s footsteps, Winston is only the second (redshirt) freshman ever to win the award. Next year, he will have the privilege of casting a vote, while looking to join Ohio State’s Archie Griffin as the only two-time Heisman winner.
