Over the weekend, NCAA investigators traveled to College Station and proceeded to interrogate quarterback and defending Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel for six hours regarding an alleged pay-for-autographs scandal. The same reports of the investigators’ day made it clear that a decision regarding the superstar signal-caller would be rendered by Wednesday.
According to Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com, such a ruling has been made: Johnny Football has been suspended for the first half of Texas A&M’s season-opening showdown against Rice.
The news is significant, but the punishment seems extremely light-handed. That is because, as most expected, Manziel was reportedly found not guilty of collecting any money for his signature.
