According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, the Florida Gators are getting closer to landing Michigan transfer Jon Horford.
Florida and Michigan transfer Jon Horford moving closer, sources told ESPN. Would be ideal addition for Donovan and Gators.

If the name sounds familiar to UF fans, it’s because Jon is the younger brother of two-time NCAA champion Al Horford.
As a redshirt senior set to graduate this spring, Horford will be eligible to play immediately for the Gators. That would provide head coach Billy Donovan with some much needed veteran experience heading into the 2014-15 season. The Gators lost Patric Young and Will Yeguete down low, so the leadership Horford could bring would be invaluable.
During the 2013-14 season, Horford averaged 3.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 13.8 minutes of play, and was a tri-captain for the Wolverines.
