The wacky and wild world of Jose Canseco took another turn on Wednesday morning when reports out of Las Vegas surfaced that the former Major League Baseball player was a “person of interest” in a sexual assault case.

How did the sports world find out about this news? Canseco broke it himself on Twitter. Yes, you read that correctly, Jose Canseco took to Twitter to announce that he was “charged with rape by a [female’s name] from Las Vegas.”

Steve Goldman of SB Nation was able to capture the tweets before they were deleted from existence.

Canseco actually hasn’t been “charged with rape” yet, he is just a “person of interest” at this time. Leave it up to slightly off-centered man to confuse the two.

Las Vegas Review-Journal crime reporter Mike Blasky confirms that the Clark County DA’s office has not formally charged Canseco at this time.

Jackie Valley of the Las Vegas Sun confirms that Las Vegas police have made contact with Canseco and that he is of interest.

But why leave it up to the cops when you can play every kids favorite game, truth or dare?
