Josh Beckett finished off his no-hitter against the Phillies on Sunday with a punch-out of Chase Utley. Beckett’s no-no was the first of the 2014 season, the 283rd in MLB history, and was probably a little extra special since he out-dueled former teammate AJ Burnett.
Here’s another look at the final out, along with the celebration.
In nine innings Beckett gave up no hits, with only three walks and six strikeouts. He’s now 3-1 on the season with a 2.43 ERA.
