Moore, Oklahoma was absolutely destroyed in one of the most horrifying, tragic tornadoes the country has ever seen. At first, Thunder superstar Kevin Durant tweeted out his support, which was great, but now the baller has taken it one massive step further.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Durant has donated a whopping $1 million to the Oklahoma tornado relief fund.

This is a huge gesture from a young man who did not have to make it. He went to school in Texas and was drafted originally by the SuperSonics. Oklahoma City is his adopted home.

He has, obviously, embraced his role as not only the face of the franchise, but really the most recognizable person in the state.

But this goes above and beyond all of that. This goes straight to the heart of a humanitarian disaster that is going to cost millions upon millions of dollars (maybe even billions) to even begin to make right.

For their part, the organization’s primary sponsors have donated the same amount of money.

Everyone here at Gamedayr are praying for the health and safety of those working towards a full recovery.
