It’s been a rough few days for the Louisville Cardinals and Coach Rick Pitino. On Saturday the Cardinals were handled by hated-rival Kentucky, and on Monday they lost at least one player for the year, if not two. First, Chane Behanan was dismissed from the program, and now Kevin Ware may be shut down for the season.
“I think Kevin may be shut down for the year. Wouldn’t say 100 percent,” Pitino stated.
Ware has seen limited playing time this season. He’s only reached double-digit minutes in two games, and has had limited impact on the stat sheet. He is averaging just 1.7 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.
Although losing a player on a basketball roster is never a good thing, Louisville has essentially been playing without him the entire season.
“Ware is not a factor on our basketball team,” Pitino said. “We’ve been playing without him.”
Pitino stated that Ware could redshirt if he is sidelined.
