Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart offered high praise to Crimson Tide star linebacker CJ Mosley. Smart said that he is a better coach for having worked with Mosley.
Kirby Smart: “CJ Mosley has made me a great coach the last four years. … I may not ever coach a guy quite like him.”

During his tenure at Alabama, Smart has seen the likes of Dont’a Hightower, Rolando McClain and Dee Milliner pass through Bryant-Denny Stadium. Considering the talent he has coached, Smart’s comments about the 2013 Butkus Award winner carry a lot of weight.
Smart’s is just the latest compliment Mosley has received. Oklahoma Sooners co-offensive coordinator Jay Norvell compared him to one of the all-time linebacking greats.
“I had a chance to coach in the NFL and play against Ray Lewis and he’s similar in his ability to communicate, his football senses, the way he sees the field and gets everybody lined up. He’s a complete football player. When we played Ray Lewis when I was in the National Football League, I just was amazed where he always seemed to be in the right position all the time, and that’s what Mosley is. He’s played that way consistently. It’s a real credit to him and that defense.”
Mosley’s final game will be in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma on January 2.
