Nascar was officially back with the waving of the flag for Saturday’s Nationwide Series.  The season kicked off in thrilling fashion, with the race coming down to the wire for more than a handful of cars.

On the very last lap of the DRIVE4COP 300 at Daytona International Speedway, Kyle Larson’s car flew from the track and into the fence in violent fashion.

Larson’s engine ejected from the car and into the stands, along with a tire, breaking through the barrier constructed between the track and the crowd.

According to ESPN, a total of 15 spectators were transported to nearby hospitals following the crash.

“Fortunately, with the way the event’s equipped up, there were plenty of emergency workers ready to go, and they jumped in on it pretty quickly,” stated NASCAR president Mike Helton.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the individuals injured from the Gamedayr Nation.
