Lambeau Field to offer free hot chocolate at frigid Wild Card game

Sunday’s NFC Wild Card game in Green Bay is supposed to be colder than moonlight on a tombstone. In an effort to help keep fans toasty, the concession stands at Lambeau Field will provide two free cups of hot chocolate.

“With the forecast predicting very cold temperatures this Sunday, we’re happy to offer our fans a way to warm up while attending the game,” said Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy.

AccuWeather currently predicts temperatures at kickoff to be roughly -3 degrees Fahrenheit, with a real feel of -27 degrees. After a week of blackout speculation, the gratis beverages are a polite nod to fans willing to brave the elements and cheer on the teams.

As for the game: kickoff between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers is scheduled for approximately 4:40 p.m ET. The winning team will play either Seattle or Carolina in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
