Georgia just couldn’t weather the storm that was the Clemson Tigers, Tajh Boyd and Death Valley on Saturday night, falling 38-35 in the first game of the season.
It was a massive win for Clemson’s program, and a deflating loss for Georgia, a program harboring national title hopes heading into the 2013 season.
The loss, however, doesn’t mean that the Bulldogs are completely out of the chase. Nor does it mean that a grown man should cry on radio over it.
But that’s exactly what this fan did, and although we support passionate fans, this is just a bit embarrassing. It was one game, in a raucous environment and you lost by three points to a national title contender.
The loss and this fan’s tears are also reminiscent of the Georgia football program over the Bulldogs’ entire existence. Oh so close, yet still so far away.
