During a speech to a crowd in Grand Rapids, Michigan, coach Brady Hoke tossed the first barb by stating that Notre Dame was “chickening out” on their rivalry by taking the Wolverines off the schedule in two year’s time.

Seeing as this is the offseason, and players are just as bored of playing video games as we are as fans, it did not take long for a response from the Golden Domer side.

The best part? It did not come from Irish coach Brian Kelly, but rather from star defensive tackle Louis Nix III — otherwise known as Irish Chocolate.

Now, Nix, at 6-foot-3 and 326 pounds, is exactly the sort of guy who would make good on a promise to eat #MeatChicken — whatever that is.

However, Hoke isn’t exactly a small guy himself. Such large man love was not lost upon Louis (say that five times fast).

Honestly, if it were up to us, we’d just forget the games altogether.

Tickets to a Hoke-Nix eating contest would cost a small fortune on StubHub, but it’d be worth every single penny.

I feel so proud because I was the one who started the meatchicken saying.
