ACC officials have reportedly discussed a potential Labor Day Weekend meeting between Louisville and Miami to open the 2014 season, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson. The game is still in talks, and an exact day is not known at this time.

Miami took another step in the right direction in 2013 under Al Golden, putting together a 9-3 campaign in the ACC. With a victory in their bowl game, the Hurricanes will have their first double-digit win season since 2003.

Louisville came into the 2013 season with national championship aspirations, but fell to BCS-bound Central Florida. Coach Charlie Strong’s team finished the regular season at 11-1. The Cardinals will officially join the ACC in 2014.

Louisville and Miami will cap off the 2013 season on Dec. 28 in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Kickoff is set for 6:45 p.m. ET.
