Louisville football recruit arrested for impregnating 14-year-old cousin

Louisville football recruit Sharieff Rhaheed-Muhammad, 17, has been arrested for impregnating his 14-year-old cousin. Rhaheed-Muhammad, who has no prior criminal history, was picked up on felony charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor, and has since been released from juvenile detention.

According to CBS12 News, investigators believe the pair had sex in June 2013. In October, the girl’s mother administered a home pregnancy test, at which time the teen admitted to intercourse with her cousin. The pregnancy was aborted in November.

Per CBS12:

… genetic testing of the remains showed on Feb. 11 a nearly 100 percent chance that Rhaheed-Muhammad, 17, was the father. After Rhaheed and his mother refused to provide a DNA sample, police served a search warrant at the high school in November and took a swab of his DNA, according to the report

Rhaheed-Muhammad was a three-star linebacker recruit who chose Louisville over the likes of Michigan State and LSU. Coach Bobby Petrino and Louisville are aware of the situation, but have declined further comment.
