Miami Heat’s Secret Santa gift exchange nets Chris Bosh a telescope

Thanks to the planning of LeBron James, Chris Bosh is now the proud owner of a brand new telescope. James decided to put together a Secret Santa event for the Miami Heat this year, and Shane Battier delivered. Battier drew Bosh and, knowing of the big man’s love for the nerdier things in life, gave him the ability to look into the stars.

“For one of the most introspective and intellectual teammates I’ve ever had, I thought hard about the gift and got him a telescope,” Battier told Jason Lieser of The Palm Beach Post. “Not a gift that many NBA players have. I think he appreciated it.

Not to be outdone, Mario Chalmers delivered a couple of bottles of fine wine to Battier.

“Mario actually came very, very strong. I was very impressed. He knows my love for the red stuff. He got me some very, very nice bottles of wine. Opus One and a Joseph Phelps Insignia. He came very, very strong.”

There was a limit on price, but it was quite the opposite of the traditional Secret Santa guidelines. Players couldn’t spend below a certain set amount.

James posted the below photo of the happy players to his Instagram account.

We can only imagine what Birdman was gifted.
