Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett had to get creative in order to take his family to a nice meal. When a Seattle restaurant claimed to be all booked, Bennett pretended to be Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson and secured a reservation.
Bennett shared the story with 710 ESPN Seattle, saying the restaurant rolled out the red carpet when they thought Wilson was on the way.
“And then I got to the restaurant – it was me and my wife and my kids – I said, ‘Oh, thank you. I’m Russell Wilson.’ And then she took me to the table. They had it roped off, they had sparkling water, everything.
“She was like, ‘Good joke.’ I said, ‘Gotcha.’
The night prior, Bennett scored his first career touchdown. Fans cheering the score reportedly registered an earthquake on the University of Washington seismograph.
If he continues to find the end zone for the Seahawks, he won’t have to use his Russell Wilson alias for much longer.
