In a move that all of America can get behind, Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel reports that Duke Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski will be returning as Team USA’s men’s basketball head coach.

A formal announcement from Coach K is expected within the next 48 hours.

Under the direction of Krzyzewski, Team USA Basketball experienced a rebirth, claiming gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics. The team is nearly perfect with Coach K at the helm, compiling a 62-1 record.

Thamel reports that Krzyzewski will begin the preparation process again with a mini-camp this July in Las Vegas. He will have some work on his hands in order to be ready for the 2014 FIBA World Championships in Madrid, Spain.

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim stated last weekend that he would likely return to coach as well, however, at this time it’s not known who exactly will join Krzyzewski on the sidelines.
