A day after Mike Munchak was fired by the Tennessee Titans, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that he will interview with Penn State.

Munchak played his college football at Penn State under Joe Paterno from 1978-81. He was reportedly the first choice to take over for Paterno following the 2011 season, but chose to stay with the Titans.

While at the helm of Tennessee, Munchak coached the team to a 22-26 overall record. His performance wasn’t the reason he was shown the door, but rather an unwillingness to shake up his coaching staff.
