MLB Team Payrolls For 2014 Season: Dodgers Lead League

Another Major League Baseball season is nearly upon us, which means it’s time for the media to analyze MLB’s payroll for all 30 teams for 2014.

This year the Los Angeles Dodgers lead the league with a team payroll of $235,295,219, according to The Associated Press. The New York Yankees led the pack with the highest payroll for 15 years prior to 2014. Despite not spending the most, the Bronx Bombers aren’t far behind the Dodgers, having a payroll of $203,812,506. New York and LA are the only ball clubs with more than $200,000,000 on the roster.

The Philadelphia Phillies check in with the third highest payroll ($180,052,723), followed by the Boston Red Sox ($162,817,411) and Detroit Tigers ($162,228,527).
