NBA’s Top Selling Team Merchandise 2013-14: Miami Heat Leads League

The numbers are in, and the Miami Heat are the NBA’s top selling team when it comes to merchandise. According to For The Win, the Heat have led the league’s merchandise sales at nbastore.com since the start of the 2013-14 season. It’s safe to say that having LeBron James on your team and being the back-to-back champions will greatly increase your fan presence.

Just behind Miami are the always-popular Los Angeles Lakers. Despite having what Kobe Bryant described as a “sh*t season,” fans didn’t stop buying purple and gold merchandise.

Checking in at No. 3 are the Chicago Bulls. Joakim Noah has kept the playoff train rolling without Derrick Rose, and has made the Bulls one of the most exciting teams to watch this season. Factor in that the Michael Jordan ripple effect is still going strong, and Chicago is always a big merchandise mover.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook’s presence on Oklahoma City has the Thunders’ small-market franchise sitting in the four-spot.

Rounding out the top five are the New York Knicks, despite a playoff-less season to forget.
