North Carolina State star cornerback David Amerson will forgo his senior year of eligibility and enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

At 6-foot-2 and 193 pounds, Amerson has the size to compete against the big bodies of the NFL’s tallest wide receivers. ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper has Amerson rated as the fifth-best cornerback in the draft and the No. 48-overall player.

As a junior, Amerson recorded 52 tackles and finished tied for first in the ACC with five interceptions. However, that total was not indicative his Amerson’s intense ball-hawking ability, as most quarterbacks simply did not throw to the guys he was covering.

As a sophomore, Amerson tallied an ACC record with a whopping 13 interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns.

Amerison is out of the ACC, but another 29 underclassmen have declared for the upcoming draft out of the SEC.
