On Monday a photo surfaced on the Twitter-sphere of a possible new Florida Gators jersey. The image came from 2013 recruit Roderick Johnson, who was seen in the following photo rocking a new Nike design.
The subtle change to next year’s uniforms was confirmed on Wednesday by Scott Carter of GatorZone.com. The new jersey will only be worn by a few select schools, and feature’s much more breathable, lightweight material.
Two other schools to previously wear the jerseys are Texas (practice) and Alabama (BCS National Championship).

From an aesthetic standpoint, the main difference is the use of larger, block numbers that match with Florida’s new font program-wide.
Performance-wise, the jerseys feature breathable mesh along the sides instead of a solid fabric.
So now that the Gators will be outfitted with the most advanced uniforms in the country, there’s no reason our boys shouldn’t be hoisting that cystal ball at the end of next season. Ok, maybe we still have to play the games, but one can only hope.
