Is it football, or futbol? A design team out of Minnesota has taken it upon themselves to blur that line, Robin Thicke-style, and the results are far easier to stomach than a certain VMA broadcast. The six designers have been working to re-imagine each of the 32 NFL team logos as soccer badges in the styles that English, German, Italian, and Spanish teams might draw up for themselves.
The group has since published them onto FootballasFootball.com – a pretty clever site name, if we do say so ourselves. Perusing their site is like a study in what could have been in the States, had soccer risen to national prominence here like it has in the rest of the world.
The Green Bay Packers’ logo received the English treatment.
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ logo was designed with the Italian badge in mind.
The Miami Dolphins’ theoretical crest boasts a French influence.
Finally, the New England Patriots’ logo looks like a Spanish badge.
Take a minute and browse what they’re cooking up at FootballasFootball.com.
