The Carolina Panthers will welcome back quarterback Cam Newton as they take on the New Orleans Saints on Saturday.
The Panthers announced Newton has been officially cleared from the concussion protocol by an independent physician on Saturday.
Newton participated in practices both Thursday and Friday, which made the Panthers very hopeful as they played last Sunday without the reigning MVP.
The Panthers lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week without Newton in the backfield, dropping their record to 1-4.
Offensive coordinator Mike Shula assures that Newton will not be limited in any facet of the game, continuing to be a dual-threat as he gets ready to take on the Saints.
Newton has declined any meetings with the media this week.
