The Atlanta Falcons fear the worst may be happening with regards to superstar wide receiver Julio Jones. Matt Ryan’s favorite target may be done for the year following a foot injury sustained on Monday night against the New York Jets.
The Falcons lost to the Jets in a devastatingly close, 30-28 game in front of the home crowd to drop to a disappointing 1-4 on the year.
After reaching the NFC title game a year ago, the franchise’s chances of even making the postseason looked bleak after Monday’s final whistle. With the news of the potential loss of Jones, they now look nearly impossible.
Jones is currently the team’s leading receiver with 41 receptions for 580 yards and two scores. His receptions total is also the highest in the entire NFL and his yardage is second only to Jimmy Graham’s 593.
Look for Harry Douglas and Roddy White to step up in his absence.
