The New England Patriots will be without tight end Rob Gronkowski this Sunday as they take on the San Francisco 49ers.
The injury report released on Friday lists Gronk out with a chest injury. He missed practice on Friday, his third straight absence from practice since sustaining the injury during the team’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Martellus Bennett and Matt Lengel will try and fill Gronk’s spot. Bennett has 38 catches for 504 yards and four touchdowns so far this season, so luckily QB Tom Brady will have a pretty suitable target come Sunday.
ESPN has reported that Gronkowski’s injury isn’t “overly serious,” and all reports of him having a punctured lung have been denied.
