No. 1 Florida gymnastics tops Arkansas

Florida gymnastics comes out at No. 1 after beating Arkansas Friday night with scores of 197.575 to 196.175 in Fayetteville. The Gators won in three of four events, falling behind Arkansas on floor.

Mackenzie Caquatto impressed the judges on bar once again with a nearly perfect score of 9.95. The Gators scored 49.450 overall on bars compared to the Razorbacks’ 49.250.

Ashanee Dickerson stood out on vault, also scoring 9.950. Florida beat Arkansas 49.400 to 49.150 on vault.

On beam, Bridget Sloan impressed the judges and earned a score of 9.925, leading the Gators to a win in the event 49.450 to 48.375.

Marissa King and Ashanee Dickerson led the Gators on bars, both scoring 9.900, but the Razorbacks came out on top in the event with scores of 49.400 and 49.275.

Marissa King, Ashanee Dickerson and Bridget Sloan were recognized for their all-around results.

The Gators will host No. 5 Alabama this Friday in the O’Dome at 7 p.m. ET.
