Despite these obstacles, Florida was able to overcome the adversity Saturday night and impress the judges and a crowd of about 7,130 in the O’Connell Center with a score of 198.400, the second best in Florida’s history.
The girls earned nothing less than a 49.550 in any of the four events.
Florida’s Kytra Hunter earned the all-around title with an impressive 39.775.
Minnesota earned an overall 197.100, and will be joining the Gators in the NCAA Championships in Los Angeles April 19-21.
This will be Florida’s 31st appearance in the championships.
