Notre Dame and Boston College schedule Fenway Park game for 2015

The college football scheduling authorities continue to deliver early Christmas presents to fans. On Thursday, it was announced that Florida and Michigan will face off in the 2017 “Cowboys Classic.” Just a day later, it was revealed that Notre Dame and Boston College will play at legendary Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, in 2015.

In a press conference following the announcement, Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick stated that continuing the “Shamrock Series” was at the top of the priority list.

The Fighting Irish started the Shamrock Series tradition in 2009, in which they play one neutral site contest per year in varying cities. The locations so far have included San Antonio (Alamodome), New York (Yankee Stadium), Washington D.C. (FedEx Field), Chicago (Soldier Field) and Arlington (Cowboys Stadium). In 2014 they will add Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium to the list, and in 2015 the aforementioned Fenway Park.

The game against Boston College is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21.
