This weekend in college basketball is turning out to be one the NCAA will soon hope to forget. First we saw Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart shove a Texas Tech fan. Now, an Oregon coach claims to have been spit on by an Arizona State student.
Ducks assistant basketball coach Brian Fish told The Oregonian that he and trainer Clay Jamieson were the unfortunate victim of a student’s inappropriate decision. Despite his actions, Fish declined to press charges on the student.
“Say what you want to us but don’t spit on us,” Fish said.
“I didn’t want any charges, just for him to be scared (witless),” Fish said. “We all deserve second chances, he’s a college kid. But that was completely uncalled for.”
ESPN reports that the individual has had their season tickets revoked.
The Ducks dropped the game to the Sun Devils, 74-72.
