ESPN has updated its Pac-12 bowl game projections following Week 8 of the 2013 college football season.
Interestingly, Oregon is still slotted for a berth against No. 1 Alabama in the BCS national title game. This projection comes after the Ducks were surprisingly ranked third in the first edition of the 2013 BCS Standings behind Florida State. The reason why is the Ducks’ schedule: Whereas the Seminoles only have Miami left in terms of marquee games (sorry Florida), Oregon still must beat UCLA, Stanford and Oregon State. If both win out, Oregon’s schedule would be enough to bump the program up and into the championship game.
Should that be the case, one-loss Stanford would slide up and into the Pac-12′s automatic BCS invite for the Rose Bowl. UCLA, Arizona State and Oregon all look fantastic and should slide into very good bowl games themselves.
Washington has lost three in a row and is in danger of falling behind a USC squad that has new life with interim coach Ed Orgeron patrolling the sidelines instead of Lane Kiffin.
