Following a big slate of games during Week 9 of the 2013 college football season, ESPN has updated its Pac-12 bowl projections.
The conference’s top two teams both enjoyed a very nice bump in the latest BCS standings, further bolstering their respective cases for top-tier bowl games. Oregon trounced then-No. 12 UCLA, 42-14, to leapfrog Florida State into the No. 2 spot of the top 25. Should the Ducks win out, they will be in the BCS National Championship Game.
Fellow league powerhouse, Stanford, dispatched of an Oregon State squad that had been 6-1 and ranked at No. 25. The Cardinal move up from No. 6 to No. 5, and are expected to earn the Pac-12′s automatic invite to the Rose Bowl.
UCLA is still expected to finish third-best in a very good Pac-12, but a few more Arizona State wins could change that. For now, the Bruins are expected to play in the Alamo Bowl, the Sun Devils will head to the Holiday Bowl.
