When Maryland plays host to Florida International to open the season on Saturday afternoon, there will be some massive new additions for fans to enjoy.
The Terps have raised larger-than-life new “photo murals” to honor some of the program’s greatest players. In all, 11 former players – all consensus All-Americans – as well as the 1953 national title-winning team have banners hung in their honor in the west end zone of Byrd Stadium.
These are the 11 players: Bob Ward, Dick Modzelewski, Jack Scarbath, Bob Pellegrini, Gary Collins, Randy White, Joe Campbell, Dale Castro, J.D. Maarleveld and E.J. Henderson.
We here at Gamedayr love anything that honors school and winning traditions, and this takes care of both. You can bet the folks in the Big Ten office want to see Maryland pumping up its athletic department and football team as much as possible as well.
Hopefully, fans really enjoy the additions.
