The Lions have struggled to win games consistently for decades in Detroit. The same story goes for the city’s baseball team, the Tigers.

However, Detroit fans have always had their Red Wings — and their octopuses.

It is tradition at every Red Wings home playoff game to toss a real octopus onto the ice. Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh got a crash course in this distinctly Detroit move during the Wings’ Game 4 showdown against Chicago.

It looks fun, but messy.
