Following an 11-win season that resulted in a berth in the GoDaddy.com Bowl, the Kent State Golden Flashes have revamped their uniforms. Gone is the yellow neckline bordering and stripes down the sides. The “Flashes” above the front numerals have also hit the ol’ dusty trail.
In their stead we find a much more subdued-yet-classy navy and hyper-fit Nike neckline. Above the darker yellow front number it now reads “Kent State” (because, really, “Flashes” just doesn’t mean the same thing now as it may have used to).
Overall, we approve of the cleaner look. We’re excited to see what Kent State has in store for their pants and helmets.
*Update* 3:30 p.m.
The Kent State seniors got together for a group shot outside the front entrance to Dix Stadium. They are wearing their new uniforms, along with the slick, navy blue and yellow elbow-length sleeves underneath. Click on the photo itself for an enlarged view.
