When first we learned that Tennessee and Virginia Tech would be meeting at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2016, the numbers immediately blew us away: A potential 160,000 fans would be able to watch a single football game.
Since, the comparisons have been equally as wild. Two early renderings have been released of how small the playing field looks at the Speedway, but what we have below is something else.
The smaller ring is the outer wall of Neyland Stadium, the Volunteers’ home stadium. It is one of the largest in the nation, and fits more than 100,000 inside.
A photo of the stadium has been superimposed inside a satellite view of Bristol Motor Speedway – and Neyland pales in comparison to where the Vols and Hokies will be playing.
