The Arizona Wildcats unveiled several new uniform combinations on Monday. As the program gears up for year two of the Rich Rodriguez era, two things about the new look stand out, the first of which is something that isn’t new at all.
The Wildcats are bringing back their copper helmets. Very unique.
Second, notice the rainbow color-scheme gradient on the sleeves of the uniforms themselves. Those will be sure to raise an eyebrow or two come fall.
‘Zona also released a teaser trailer prior to Monday’s official unveiling.
The Wildcats are coming off an 8-5 season that saw some of the ups and downs that will happen under a first year head coach. However, the program took down USC in a high-flying affair and then came back from being down double-digits to beat Nevada in the New Mexico Bowl (they had gone down 45-28 before coming back to win, 49-48).
The modernized look has been made in an effort to carry that momentum over to a 2013 season that may just result in double-digit wins.
You could even say, in fact, that the Arizona Wildcats football program is hoping to “make a statement.”
